We have a few fans from trips overseas that Pip Squeak LOVES and constantly enjoys playing with. That inspired me to try creating our own DIY Paper Fans. Paper Fans are simple and affordable to make, and they can be designed in any colours or patterns. You can even use plain paper and embellish it with pens and glitter. For our paper fans, we also reused some of the children’s Ice Lollie Sticks, making this the ideal Summer Craft!! It is part of our DIY Watermelon Craft Ideas collection!

These paper fans are a wonderful addition to our DIY Paper Toys collection – be sure to explore it for more playful and unusual ideas! If you enjoy Melon Crafts, you may also like our easy Melon Bookmarks and Melon Bowls!

DIY Paper Fans (easy!) –How To:
Watch these helpful video directions on autoplay, or follow the written steps below!
I ended up recording this video three times! That is true commitment!
Easy DIY Paper Fans – written instructions:

- Slice your A4 paper sheets in half LENGTH WISE. You will need just 3 strips, although you are welcome to try using all four. For the MELON, we cut 2 A4 sheets of red paper. We then prepared green strips (around 2cm wide) and white strips (around 1cm wide), and glued them together in the correct colour sequence to form the melon section. Finally, we drew on black seeds with a pen.
- Fold each strip in a concertina pattern, approximately 1cm wide.
- Use the glue stick to join the three sections together. Check that they are firmly attached.
- Gather all the sections so they become as flat as possible, then fasten the BOTTOM of the paper with some sellotape.
- Attach a craft stick to each end with glue.
- Open it carefully – and it’s DONE! Beautiful

Aren’t they gorgeous! We hope you liked our Melon DIY Paper Fans and will give them a try!!!! You might also enjoy our 4th of July Paper Fans. Make them from scratch or try our easy DIY Paper Fans Template!!
