There is something truly delightful about PAPER. Paper is wonderfully straightforward, inexpensive, and it is INCREDIBLE what you can create with it. With Christmas approaching and our fondness for Christmas Crafts for Kids, I thought a collection of our favourite Christmas Paper Crafts would come in handy!

I adore Christmas Paper DIY Ideas because all you really require is a pad of paper and everyday “home stationery,” such as scissors, a glue stick and a few pens. After that, you can allow your creative magic to unfold. Transform ordinary paper into bookmarks, present boxes, greeting cards, decorations and plenty more. If you have access to a printer, I have included links to our Free Christmas Printables too – naturally, you will need both paper AND a printer for those. So. Time for some Christmas Paper Ideas.
Christmas Paper Crafts Materials we often use:
- White printer paper (yes! Simply regular printer paper –US/ UK)
- A pack of coloured paper (I purchase lovely paper from a nearby shop, but this option looks greatUS/ UK)
- Colouring Pens (we always make sure to have plenty of theseUS/ UK)
- Scissors (these are excellent and suitable for both left and right handed US/ UK)
- Glue Stick (choose a reliable quality! US/ UK)
(affiliate links included for convenience)

Christmas Origami Projects

Alongside bookmarks, we have also grown fond of Easy Origami for Kids – now that my children are older (7yrs and nearly 9yrs), we can begin trying out some of these patterns and creations. Most of them truly are EASY, while the remaining ones are less difficult than they appear and simply require a little patience!
- Origami Christmas Tree
- Much like the paper snowflakes, you will also enjoy these 3d Christmas Trees.. you can even add a small electric tea light to them.
- Origami Santa – this may be created in 2d or 3d – the 3d Santas are charming little Christmas decorations and make an excellent STEAM activity for investigating 3d shapes in a maths class!
- Origami Penguin (also works wonderfully as a Christmas Card)
- Origami Envelopes (decorate them as Penguins and Polar Bears)
- Origami Star Wreath
- Origami Star Bowl
- Origami Paper Box
- Origami Lucky Stars
We especially enjoy the Christmas Tree Luminaries on auto play!! They are SUCH an enjoyable project to try!
Here is one example of our simple Origami patterns. We ADORE these envelopes. They would be lovely Thank You notes after Christmas!
