Create a Valentine’s Day Snail Heart Suncatcher Craft
To create our Paper Plate Snail Heart Suncatcher Craft, gather red and pink dessert and dinner size paper plates, tissue paper, clear contact paper, a black marker, small googly eyes, scissors, and a glue stick. A heart paper punch is also recommended, though it is optional.

Step-by-Step Instructions for the Snail Suncatcher
Start by sketching a heart on the back of a pink dessert size paper plate.
An adult should carefully poke the scissors into the plate and cut along the heart outline.
Use the heart opening as a template to cut two pieces of clear contact paper that fit. Attach one piece of clear contact paper to the front of the plate.
Next, snip several pieces of tissue paper in assorted colors.
Cover the heart with the tissue paper until it is completely filled.
Afterward, place the second piece of clear contact paper on the back of the plate.
With a black marker, add a few easy patterns, such as dashed or wavy lines, around the heart and plate.
Then, cut a curved portion from the red paper plate, as shown in the image.
Staple the pink plate onto the curved red section, leaving a head at the front and a small tail at the back.
From the leftover red plate, cut two strips. Then, use the heart paper punch to create two hearts from the plate. Alternatively, you can cut out the hearts by hand.
Glue the hearts onto the ends of the strips, then attach them behind the front of the red plate.
To finish, attach the googly eyes and draw a very simple mouth with a black pen.
