Here’s another delightful Handprint Father’s Day Card to create with the children. We’re always fond of an enjoyable Preschooler Father’s Day Activity, although I believe kids of every age would have fun making these.

Handprint Father’s Day Rocket Ship Card
Show Dad that you think he is OUT OF THIS WORLD by making this easy and entertaining card. Turn your handprints into flames for a rocket ship soaring through outer space!
Supplies Needed to Create your Handprint Rocket Card
- Construction paper
- Paint sticks (or replace them with paint and paintbrushes)
- Scissors
- Permanent Marker
- Glue (rubber cement or standard washable glue)
- Star puncher (optional)
- Rocket ship template (click here – enter $0 at checkout)
How to Create a Handprint Rocket Card for Dad
Step 1: Print and download the rocket ship
template. Use the template to cut out the rocket ship pieces, then trace them onto
your construction paper. Trace two wing pieces along with two circular
windows. Cut all the shapes out of the construction paper.
Step 2: Take a sheet of red or orange
construction paper. Draw flames on it using red and orange paint sticks.
Trace your hand onto the decorated sheet and cut out the shape. *If you have
several children, cut out one handprint from each child and layer them as you
put the card together!
Step 3: Assemble your rocket ship by
gluing the pieces together! Attach one wing to each side of the ship, add
the two circular windows and place your handprint flames along the bottom of the
rocket.
Step 4: Choose a dark sheet of
construction paper (black, deep blue or purple!) and draw
wavy lines across it with your paint sticks! This creates a galaxy-inspired
background for your card! Use paint shades such as blue, purple, black and
gray.
Step 5: Attach your rocket ship to the
background! Add final details to the ship with a permanent marker, if
desired. Trace the star shape from the template onto yellow
construction paper and cut it out. Write a note for Dad with your permanent
marker, then glue the star onto your card. You can also use your star-shaped
punch to make tinier stars and attach them to the background!
