Non-Candy Choices: Pom Poms, Buttons, Plastic Pumpkin Pieces
Pencils or Markers: Children can cross off each space using a marker or dot marker
Setting Up Thanksgiving Bingo
Begin by printing the calling sheet and bingo cards (the free printable link is below).
1. Snip out the calling cards and put them into a bowl or jar to draw.
2. Trim out the bingo cards. Give one bingo card to each participant. With more than 10 players, arrange the children into small teams to play together.
3. Choose candy or another small item to use as markers. Once an image is announced, the player covers that picture with a marker.
4. As you announce each image – describe it aloud or hold up the picture.
When printing without color, you might need to offer extra details about similar pictures. For instance, there are 2 pumpkins: one includes a face while the other does not. You’ll also find several varieties of leaves.
5. Choose to play for a line (5 spaces in a row) or for a complete card. Whoever completes a line first calls out “Bingo!”. If you have additional prizes, continue the game to find more lines. Since there are 30 cards, a full-card game could produce several winners at once, depending on the group size. For that reason, we suggest mainly playing for lines. Shuffle the cards and begin another round once several lines have been completed.
How Do I Play With a Larger Group?
The set contains 30 different cards. For groups larger than 30 players, divide everyone into smaller teams of 2-3 players. Another option is to distribute matching cards, allowing multiple people to win simultaneously.
Printing the Bingo Cards
Before printing, check the Print Preview. Since printers vary, be sure to choose “Print to Fit to Size” or review the printer’s Scale Features (printing at 90% scale is an option) within your settings to prevent the edges from being cut off.
