After enjoying the Horse Doodle Art project we created earlier this year, it is now time to introduce another fantastic activity – the 3d Butterfly Doodle Art. (Although, to be fair, the Giraffe is unbelievably adorable too… ha). Just like the other projects, you can combine this printable with colored or plain paper. Use the mindful coloring option if you prefer, or design your own unique doodles! There are plenty of ways to personalise it.
This Doodle Butterfly belongs to a collection of 8 Animal Doodle Projects! I will be releasing them individually over time. If you are interested in one of the projects below but cannot “locate it”… please feel free to send me a message! They are all incredibly CUTE, and you will definitely want to create every one of them! Yay!
Keep in mind that these are very straightforward printables, offered at the lowest possible price. You will receive the printable sheets shown below…. however, they do not include highly detailed instructions. If required, please refer to the assembly steps in this post here!

Materials required for your 3d Butterfly Doodle Project
- The printable template (available in my TPT store)
- Plain paper, or a combination of plain and colored paper/light card
- Scissors
- Glue sticks
- Your preferred pens, pencils, or even watercolors (for the background)

Sorry, I have “reused” the pictures from the Horse project! I hope that is alright! You should still be able to understand the process from those images. For the butterfly wings, I would likely include 2 support tabs!
As noted earlier – this horse cut-and-paste craft would make an excellent activity for The Year of the Horse! Naturally, it would also be a hit with anyone who enjoys horse crafts. You could make it for events such as the Kentucky Derby, a Farmyard unit, or simply “just because”. Have fun with this charming art project!
