One Dr. Seuss favorite in our home is Red Fish Blue Fish. Over the years, we’ve owned several copies, with each of my children enjoying one during their younger years. Inspired by this beloved Dr. Seuss story, we created this easy Red Fish Blue Fish Paper Craft, complete with a Fish Bowl Printable for them to swim in.

To create this Red Fish Blue Fish Paper Craft, start by downloading our Fish Bowl Printable. You’ll also need fish, which are crafted from cardstock in red, blue, green, and yellow, plus a stapler, glue stick, and scissors.
Red Fish Blue Fish Paper Craft
Supplies needed:
Start by printing the fish bowl.
To create the fish, cut approximately 1” strips from each cardstock color. You’ll need one strip of every color, except green, for which you’ll need two. After all, it’s red fish, blue fish, one fish, two fish.
Place glue along one end of each strip.
Next, curve the strip into a circle and secure the ends together with glue.
At the glued section, bend the paper into a V-like shape. Press it together to help the glue adhere while creating the fin.
Starting at the paper’s fold, slide the paper into the stapler as far as it can go. That’s how I positioned mine, but if you’re using a larger stapler, simply staple about ⅓ of the way into the paper.
After stapling, cut off any extra paper and shape the fish again as necessary.
Finally, send the fish for a swim inside the bowl.
