Smush Painting Earth Day Craft
To create our Earth craft with smushed paint, begin by getting our circle template. It will help you achieve the proper size more easily.
After that, you’ll need acrylic paints in shades of blue and green, along with white cardstock and scissors.
Paint Smush Earth Craft Supplies Needed
- Circle Template
- Acrylic paint – blue, green, purple
- White cardstock
- Scissors
Smush Painting Earth Craft Step by Step Directions
First, cover and safeguard the area where you’ll be pressing the paint. Using too much paint may cause it to escape around the sides.
Next, place drops of blue, green, and even a little purple paint onto one piece of white cardstock.
Afterward, position the second sheet of white cardstock right over the paint.
We then pressed the paint in all directions between the two sheets using our hands. In other words, you simply squish the paint around. A piece of cardboard, another firm, flat object, or any durable material can be used instead of your hands for this part. The edges might become somewhat messy.
Continue pressing until the paint seems evenly spread to every edge of the cardstock sheets Then, lift away the upper sheet of cardstock.
Set the cardstock sheets on a flat surface and allow them to dry entirely.
Once the paint has dried, print and cut out the circle. Use it to trace a circle onto the smush painting.
To finish, cut the circle out of the painted cardstock to form your Earth. I love seeing the beautiful waves and ripples produced by the smushing process.
Displayed in a room, this Earth craft makes a lovely Earth Day decoration. It’s also a cheerful art project on its own.
