Supplies for the Patriotic Star Fingerprint Craft
- Star Template
- White cardstock
- Acrylic paint – red, white, blue
- Scissors
Instructions for Making the Memorial Day Star Fingerprint Craft
First, print the star template onto the colored cardstock you selected. Cardstock is ideal because it creates a stronger star that maintains its shape. Cut the star out.
Next, prepare white cardstock along with red, white, and blue acrylic paints. Since it handles paint well, cardstock is once again the best choice. Place the paint on a palette or paper plate.
Set the star in the middle of the cardstock. If necessary, hold it down with glue dots or strips of masking tape formed into loops.
Place a finger into either the red or blue paint.
Start stamping fingerprints in random areas across the page.
Use the second color next, covering the star’s edges with fingerprints as you go.
Finish by adding several white fingerprints, especially in areas where the red and blue colors are clustered.
When finished, gently lift the star away. Allow the paint to dry fully.
Now you’re ready to create even more patriotic stars!
