Children of every age will enjoy creating this gift for their loved ones at Thanksgiving.
Place a poem inside the card (we’ve included a sweet one below)! You could also write Happy Thanksgiving inside.

To make this lovely card even more special, we wrote a turkey poem that you can add inside as well:
This Thanksgiving turkey,
Was made with love by me,
I made this from my hand to say,
I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Steps to Make your Turkey Handprint
1. Begin by folding your brown cardstock in half.
Outline your hand with the pinky aligned against the fold and the thumb stretched downward as far as possible. This arrangement gives the turkey “head” its proper shape. Scroll to the end of our post for the video tutorial!

2. Cut the handprint out.
If necessary, remove a small section from the bottom.

3. Next, cut out the feet and beak as illustrated, then attach them to the handprint.
A glue stick works well for securing these pieces.

4. Attach the googly eye and the red wattle.

5. Finish by adding the feathers!
Our favorite sequence is red, yellow, orange, red. However, blue and green feathers can be included as well. For attaching the feathers, we prefer this tacky glue, since feathers can be somewhat difficult to adhere.

Next, write your greeting inside the card! The turkey poem we composed would look charming inside, along with “Happy Thanksgiving”.
