Snail Sensory Bag – Sensory Activity for Kids

Children can personalize this sensory bag with ease! They may decorate the snail using their favorite colors and crayons, markers, or even paint. You can swap the pom poms for tiny beads as well.
Supplies For Creating a Snail Sensory Bag
- Sealed Bag– we choseLarge Ziploc Bags
- Clear Hair Gel – depending on the container size, you might need one or two bottles. Look for an inexpensive choice at your local dollar store. Clear shampoo or body wash gel can work too, although these options produce extra bubbles inside the bag.
- Small pom poms
- Coloring supply – we used markers, though crayons, colored pencils, or paint are also suitable for filling in the design.

Instructions For Making a Snail Sensory Bag
1. Print off the template. To obtain the template, pre-order my new book and message me through our contact page HERE or Instagram, including a screenshot of your pre-order.
2. Begin by coloring the snail template. Markers were used for this example.
Afterward, cut out the shape.
3. Pour clear hair gel into the bag. Add enough so the pom poms can move freely inside. Clear shampoo or body wash may also be used, but they will result in more bubbles in the bag.
4. Next, place the pom poms inside. If they are hard to move through the bag, add some additional hair gel.
5. Close the bag securely.
To keep younger children from opening it, place additional duct tape over the top of the bag to keep it sealed. Always supervise children when using small items.
Secure the snail template and the bag with tape to keep everything from shifting.
The activity is ready to begin! Children will enjoy sliding the pom poms around to form a spiral design on the snail’s shell.
It is also an excellent way to develop fine motor abilities.
