Easy Pop Up Trophy Cards – Materials required:
For each pop up trophy card, you will need:
- One A5 Card (we chose a green one)
- Some yellow paper – ours measured 21cm long and 8cm high (white paper can also be coloured in)
- Some blue paper offcuts (for the rosette)
- Stars for embellishment (optional)
- Pencils & Pen
- Scissors
- Glue stick
How to create an easy Pop Up Trophy Card for Dad
These paper trophy chain cards are wonderfully simple to make. We also have more beautiful designs coming later in the year!!! Our “usual” How To Video is set to auto play, but if you prefer, you can follow the detailed instructions below for making this style of pop up card:

Creating your pop up trophies
First, you will need to create a “Paper Chain Trophy.” Here is how to do it!
Fold your white paper concertina-style into approximately 3.5cm sections. The folds should be very tidy, with every edge matching up neatly.
Sketch half of a trophy – ensure the trophy handle is positioned on the side that “flaps open” and extends all the way to the edge. You need a straight edge there to keep the trophies joined, rather like a Paper Doll Chain. The trophy’s centre should sit on the folded side of the paper.
Cut around the trophy shape. Once you unfold the paper, you should have 3 trophies linked together.
Adding decorations to your trophies
I thought it would look lovely to outline your trophies in black and to “draw in” the inside section of the trophy handle.
I also chose to create a very simple blue paper rosette – cut out one small circle and another slightly larger circle (the larger one should be roughly the size of a penny). Write the number one on the smaller circle and attach it to the larger one. Trim the edges so it resembles a rosette. Then cut two paper strips and glue them beneath the rosette to form the rosette “ribbons”.
Attach the rosette to the centre trophy.
Putting together your pop up trophy card
Apply glue to the backs of the two outer trophy HALVES, then carefully press them onto your card!
Your card is now complete. Add any other decorations you like – we used star confetti – or write a sweet message to dad!! I also think these cards work wonderfully as “congratulations” cards.
