Another wonderful part of Halloween is putting on a favorite costume. This project is especially enjoyable because it includes that element, too. The hands can be transformed into all sorts of characters. After all, trick-or-treating requires a costume. We turned ours into a skeleton, ghost, witch, and monster. We also came up with ideas for Spiderman, Hulk, and a princess.

Halloween Handprint Craft Step by Step Directions
Start by printing the trick-or-treat bag printable.
Feel free to print it on cardstock in any shade you like, or choose white cardstock to make the colors stand out more.
Next, trace handprints onto a different color of cardstock. Select a shade that coordinates with the costume you’re designing.
Trim out the handprints.
After that, glue the handprints along the sides of the cardstock so they appear to be holding the bag.
To finish, dress your handprints in costume. We chose white handprints for an easy ghost costume. We also created green witch hands, black skeleton hands, plus cheerful purple and pink monster hands.
For the witch hands, we snipped small triangles from black cardstock to create the fingernails. We followed the same approach for the monster hands, using bright pink cardstock for the triangles. We then drew additional features with a black Sharpie pen.
A white paint pen added the details and completed the skeleton hands.
