Thanksgiving gives us a chance to show appreciation for all we have and the people we cherish. It’s also a time centered around delicious food. Before the main meal begins, create a delightful dessert with this playful Craft Stick Pumpkin Pie Craft. I know the holiday has a deeper significance, but let’s talk about the food.
For this Thanksgiving project, kids arrange three craft sticks into a triangle on orange cardstock to create a pumpkin pie slice. Form loops from tan paper strips and attach them as the crust. Finally, use cotton balls to make the whipped topping. We even added a fork!
Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Craft Stick Craft
To make our pumpkin pie project, gather three standard wooden craft sticks, orange acrylic paint, white cotton balls, scissors, and a glue stick.
You’ll additionally need tan construction paper along with heavier cardstock in orange and silver. Naturally, you may choose to work entirely with paper or cardstock. Still, heavier cardstock helps the pie slice hold its form, while lighter paper makes the tan crust loops easier to glue together.
Pumpkin Pie Craft Supplies Needed
- Wooden craft sticks
- Orange acrylic paint
- Cardstock – orange, silver
- Tan paper
- White cotton balls
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Craft Stick Pumpkin Pie Craft Step by Step Directions
For every pie slice, start by coating three regular wooden craft sticks with orange paint.
Allow the paint to become fully dry.
Once the paint has dried, arrange and glue the sticks onto an orange cardstock sheet in the shape of a triangle. Give the glue time to set.
After the pieces are firmly attached, trim away any cardstock extending beyond the triangle.
After that, slice the tan paper into strips.
Make each tan strip into a loop by joining its ends, then glue them in place.
Attach the loops along the triangle’s back edge with glue.
Since no pumpkin pie slice is complete without whipped topping, add white cotton balls to finish the dessert. We also fashioned a fork from silver cardstock to “enjoy” our pumpkin pie craft.
