Cupcake Liner Turkey Craft

Have you realized that we’ve been enjoying cupcake liner projects recently? We’re having so much fun creating all sorts of things with cupcake liners! Naturally, a cupcake liner turkey was the perfect next idea.

We chose jumbo craft sticks for the bodies of our turkeys. Your cupcake liner turkey can be more than an enjoyable children’s craft and Thanksgiving ornament—it can also become a puppet for entertaining Thanksgiving imaginative play.

Turkey Cupcake Liner Craft Supplies Needed

Turkey Craft Step by Step Directions

Start by coating a jumbo craft stick with brown paint.

We selected two brown tones since we planned to create several turkeys and wanted some variation. Allow the paint to dry fully.

As the paint dries, pick three distinct cupcake liner colors. Fold each liner in half, then glue it shut.

Stack the cupcake liners over one another, allowing the top liner to remain visible above the lower two. Secure the cupcake liners together with glue.

Next, make several small cuts along the cupcake liners to give them a feather-like appearance.

Once the craft stick has dried completely, attach the cupcake liners with glue behind its upper section.

Attach the googly eyes. Smaller self-adhesive googly eyes make this step much simpler.

From yellow cardstock, cut a little triangle for the beak. You’ll also need a raindrop-shaped piece for the wattle. Glue both pieces beneath the eyes to finish this adorable turkey craft.
