Paper Plate Fall Leaf Hedgehog Craft

We’ve been enjoying plenty of creative projects with autumn leaves, and we’re delighted with how this Paper Plate Fall Leaf Hedgehog Craft came together! It’s adorable and makes a wonderful fall activity that captures the charm of the season in an extra-cute hedgehog.

Paper Plate Fall Leaf Hedgehog Craft

Like all of our autumn leaf projects, part of the enjoyment comes from going outdoors to collect the leaves. The greater the variety of colors, sizes, and shapes, the better. After that, slice a paper plate in half and attach leaves with glue until the entire plate is covered.

We also offer a Free Printable Leaf Hedgehog Template for the head and feet, which are the only remaining pieces you’ll need.

Leaf Hedgehog Craft Supplies Needed

Fall Hedgehog Craft Step by Step Directions

First, go outdoors and collect a large assortment of leaves.

You’ll also want to have a paper plate ready.

Slice the paper plate into two equal parts.

Next, begin attaching leaves around the plate with glue. Apply plenty of adhesive so the leaves adhere firmly.

Keep adding and gluing leaves until the entire paper plate is covered.

Afterward, print the hedgehog template. Either print it directly onto brown paper and cut out the pieces, or print it on standard paper, cut out the shapes, and trace them onto brown paper before cutting. You’ll also need a small black paper circle for the nose.

Attach the face shape to the front side of the paper plate with glue.

Position and glue on the circular nose. Add one eye, then draw a simple smile with a black marker.

To finish this incredibly cute fall hedgehog, glue the feet along the bottom flat edge of the paper plate. Allow the glue to dry completely so the leaves remain firmly attached.
