No matter how big or small their feet are, children of every age can make these charming cards. Simply press their footprint onto paper, then add a pond, sand bunker, and flagpole!

Materials Required
- Cardstock – white, green, red, and black
- Tempera paint – green, blue, and beige (or use a small quantity of brown mixed with white paint)
- Paintbrushes – medium and small
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Glue stick
- Marker
How to Craft a Footprint Father’s Day Card
1. Make the footprints.
Begin by preparing your work area.
Collect white cardstock, green tempera paint, and a medium paintbrush, as well as baby wipes, fresh rags, and a large bowl or dish filled with warm, soapy water. A step stool or short child’s chair can help make the stamping activity easier.
After arranging your workspace, brush a layer of green, non-toxic tempera paint onto the sole of your child’s foot. Help them press their foot onto a sheet of white cardstock, applying pressure to leave a clear impression.
Add another layer of paint and make a second impression – each card requires one footprint.
Let the painted prints dry, then assist your child in rinsing the paint from their foot using the warm, soapy water.
2. Paint the golf course elements.
With a fine brush and pale blue paint, create a rounded pond beside the footprint.
Next, paint a sand trap on the opposite side of the footprint using beige paint. Wait until every painted area is fully dry.
3. Form the paper card.
After the paint is dry, trim around the footprint while keeping a slim white outline.
Spread glue across the back of the footprint artwork, then attach it to a sheet of green cardstock.
To make it a card: keep sufficient room on one side of the footprint.
Crease the green cardstock in half, positioning the painted footprint near the fold while leaving a strip of green cardstock visible beside it.
Trim around the footprint through both green cardstock layers. Be careful to keep the folded side connected!
4. Attach the flagpole and hole.
Punch a small circle from black cardstock with the hole punch. Then cut a very thin rectangle, roughly 2″ long and 1/8″ wide, for the pole, plus a tiny red cardstock triangle for the flag.
Attach the small black circle to the green footprint, then glue the pole above it so it extends beyond the card’s edge. Finish by fastening the red flag to the pole’s tip.
5. Add an interior greeting.
Include a note inside the card. Here are several golf-themed Father’s Day puns:
- “Fore! to the greatest Dad!”
- “You’re the best Dad by far!”
- “To putt it simply, you’re the best Dad ever!”
- “Wishing you a tee-rific Father’s Day!”
Remember to add your child’s name and the date to the card’s back as well!
