3d Father’s Day Cards – Materials
- 2 sheets of paper (or, if available, one light card stock sheet and one paper sheet) – access your Dad Pop Up Card Templates by selecting the large red buttons below!
- A printer for producing your Dad Pop Up Card Template
- Writing pens
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Altogether, there are two designs – the BEST DAD style and the SUPER DAD style. Each is offered in a “simple” version (with an oval shape to cut) and a more detailed version (with a zig zag line to cut) – choose according to your students’ abilities. How to create a Pop Up Best Dad Card for Father’s Day
This video, along with the step-by-step pop up card instructions, uses PRINTABLE 1 – the slightly trickier version of our Best Dad Pop Up Cards to cut. To create the easier design, follow the instructions for our Pop Up Heart Cards instead (the cutting stage is simpler!).
Let’s begin with our video showing how to make a Pop Up Super Dad Card with Printable:
How to create a Dad Pop Up card with template – step-by-step guide
Print & Colour
- Print the “outside” of your card onto light card stock (optional)
- Next, print the “inside” here, along with the instructions and optional stickers, onto regular paper.
- Colour it however you like!
Cut and assemble
- Trim out the inside Best Dad/ Super Dad RECTANGLE by following the dotted lines.
- For the SIMPLE VERSION: Fold it in half – placing the Best Dad/ Super Dad on the outside so the dashed cutting lines are visible. Cut across the dashed lines – NOTE – keep one section attached; in other words, do NOT cut out the entire oval hole.
- For the DETAILED VERSION: slowly cut along the jagged lines – small scissors work best here. NOTE: a paper strip must remain intact on both sides of your pop up.
- Fold the top and bottom sections of the paper in the opposite direction at the Pop Up crease.
- Secure this sheet with glue (do NOT put glue on the Best Dad/ Super Dad pop up).
Your Super Dad pop up card is now complete.
