Beyond that, all you need is yarn in green and the flower shades you prefer, along with tape, and scissors.

Step-by-Step Directions for the Cardboard Yarn Flower Craft
First, print the template, then cut it out.
Place the template on a durable piece of cardboard and trace around it.
Next, cut the flower design out.
Attach the starting end of a green yarn skein to the back of the flower stem with tape. Hot glue can be used as an alternative and might hold more firmly, though I generally avoid using hot glue when making crafts with children.
Wrap the green yarn around the stem and leaf portion.
Keep winding the yarn around the stem and leaves until they look finished. Snip the yarn and tape its end onto the back of the cardboard.
Next, select the yarn color for your flower and tape its starting end to the cardboard’s back.
Continue winding the yarn around the circular flower area until it is fully covered.
Secure the loose yarn end on the back with tape.
What a lovely result! With enough cardboard boxes, you can effortlessly create a whole collection of flowers. Use them to brighten a room for spring.

- Print the template first, then cut it out.

- Cut the flower design from the cardboard.
- Tape the starting end of a green yarn skein to the rear of the flower stem.
- Start winding the green yarn around the stem and leaf section.
- Continue winding the yarn around the stem and leaves until they are fully covered.
- Trim the yarn and tape its end to the back of the cardboard.
- Select your flower yarn, then tape its starting end to the back of the cardboard.
- Wind the yarn around the circular flower portion until it is completely covered.
- To finish, tape the yarn’s loose end onto the back.
Notes
Hot glue is another option instead of tape and may provide a stronger hold, but I usually make an effort to avoid hot glue when crafting alongside children.
