How to Make the Alphabet Crafts
1. Print the templates.
Download the printables located at the bottom of this post and print them out.
Whenever possible, use white cardstock or thicker paper so the pieces are easier to glue together.
Every letter is offered in both color and black-and-white versions.
2. Paint or color the designs.
When working with the black-and-white files, paint or color the letters before cutting them out. This makes decorating the smaller shapes simpler and helps keep pieces from going missing as they dry.
Allow the paint to dry fully.
3. Cut out the letters and shapes.
With scissors, cut out the letters and shapes included in each design.
4. Put the letters together.
Join the pieces with a glue stick. Children can enjoy arranging and assembling the letters in any way they choose!

5. Add the finishing details with a black marker.
Refer to the example picture on each template to see which additional details are required. Certain letters may need a mouth, nose, or whiskers.
For instance, the koala requires a nose and mouth. A black pom-pom can also be used for its nose.

Should the painted paper animals curl a little as the paint dries, place each completed animal beneath a pile of heavy books for several hours to flatten it.

A sample picture is included in the file to guide you as you put each letter together.
