Now that spring has arrived, we’re excited about blooming flowers and Mother’s Day. This 3D tulip Mother’s Day card craft makes an ideal crafting and card-making project for children! It creates a lovely Mother’s Day present from kids while also serving as a simple handmade card. Moms will adore getting this thoughtful creation. Mother’s Day Card Craft for Children
Searching for a straightforward Mother’s Day project to create with children? This craft is incredibly simple! Using the printable patterns, you can trace the tulip and flower pot shapes to form the card. Children can also add their own heartfelt note inside the flower pot card!
Materials Required
- Alphabet stickers, or use a marker to write “MOM” across the card’s front
- Adhesive – we recommend tacky glue, which children can easily use with pipe cleaners.
- Tulip and flower pot patterns – the template can be sent to your email at the end of the post

How to Create a Paper Tulip Mother’s Day Card
1. Print out the pattern.
Begin by printing the downloadable pattern, then trim out the tulip and flower pot shapes. The template can be sent to your email at the end of the post.
2. Create the flower pot.
Trace the flower pot pattern onto brown kraft paper or construction paper. Trace and cut two pieces: one for the upper section and another for the lower portion, where the message will go. Feel free to make the flower pot in any shade you prefer!
3. Trim the tulips.
For every tulip blossom you want to include, cut out 2 paper tulips. We created 3 tulips, so we needed 6 paper tulip shapes altogether.
4. Start by creasing the paper tulip down the middle.
5. Next, bend both sides in the reverse direction.
This helps the middle section lift away from the paper. Afterward, attach the two sides to a second paper tulip with glue.
6. Attach the 3 tulips to a 12×12 sheet of cardstock.
A standard-sized sheet of paper can work as well. Stack the 2 flower pots together and glue them, attaching the upper piece only along the pot’s rim.
7. Attach 3 vivid green pipe cleaners as the stems.
Snip out 3 leaves and adhere them along the sides of the pipe cleaners.
8. Place MOM alphabet stickers on the flower pot’s front.
Alternatively, use a marker to write “MOM” on the front.
8. Add a heartfelt Mother’s Day note to the inside of the card.
“Mom, thank you for helping me become who I am!”
This card is wonderfully easy to create. Children of every age can participate in assembling it. They may also sketch on or embellish the flower pot. Afterward, write a meaningful note or poem inside.
