At times, all you need is an incredibly easy paper project, such as this charming little Paper Roll Snail Craft. This is the sort of activity that calls for very few materials and no lengthy set of tricky instructions. It comes together quickly and easily, making it a wonderful project for children of every age.
Start by slicing a vertical piece from a cardstock sheet in any color you prefer. Make the strip as wide or narrow as you like to create the size snail you want, using any color you choose. There are no strict guidelines here, only adorable paper snails.
Simple Paper Snail Craft
For these paper snails, begin with heavy cardstock in the colors you select. I’m saying colors because you’ll probably want to create several.
You’ll also require small googly eyes, markers in black plus a variety of other colors, scissors, and a glue stick.
Supplies for the Paper Roll Snail Craft
- Heavy cardstock – colors of your preference
- Markers – black and assorted shades
- Small googly eyes
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Step-by-Step Instructions for the Snail Paper Craft
First, select the cardstock shade for your initial snail. Be sure to choose heavy cardstock because it maintains its form more effectively.
Cut vertically along the cardstock to create a strip running its entire length. Choose any width that suits you.
Bend one end of the strip upward by a few inches, using it as a temporary guideline.
After that, turn the strip over. With the markers, draw uncomplicated lines, waves, or other designs along the strip’s length.
When the decorations are finished, turn the strip over again and gently start winding one end with your fingers.
Keep winding the paper until you arrive at the front portion you folded earlier.
Release the rolled section. If necessary, crease the front part again so it remains upright.
Then, attach googly eyes and draw a tiny mouth on the front of the fold using a black marker.
To finish, cut two narrow cardstock strips in any color you prefer to use as the antennae.
Secure the antennae with glue, and your wonderfully cute and easy paper snail is complete.
