Steps to Make Toilet Paper Roll Butterflies
1. Choose a paint color for the paper roll and allow it to dry. Light shades may require several layers of paint.
2. To create the wings, crease a sheet of cardstock down the middle. Use the pattern from our new book, or sketch your own wing shapes.

3. Trim out the wings.
4. Attach colorful buttons to the butterfly wings with glue. You can also decorate them in any style you prefer! Try pom poms, craft gems, or simply draw your own patterns.
5. Create the antennae by shaping the pipe cleaner into a “V”. Fold the ends of the “V” downward into curls. Then attach two tiny pom-poms to the ends.
6. Secure the antennae inside the upper part of the paper roll. Attach the googly eyes close to the top, then use the black marker to draw a mouth.
7. As the final step, attach the wings to the rear of the paper roll.
