We have featured some of these delightful 4th July Preschool activities before! However, with so many resources available, some can occasionally get “lost.” So, just in case, I am showcasing these wonderful toddler, kindergartener and preschooler activities once more – they are ideal for Independence Day, Memorial Day or Flag Day!
Let’s start with a few incredibly simple patriotic activities for preschoolers and toddlers. These easy crafts are enjoyable for children to take part in and help you teach them about these special celebrations – whether it is Flag Day, Memorial Day or the 4th of July! As noted, this is a fantastic collection of crafts to create on Independence Day while celebrating America with young children. Naturally, there are plenty of stars, stripes, and red, white and blue. These Fourth of July activities are suitable for children from Kindergarten through preschool.
If you need preschool lesson plans and extra activities, I am confident that you will like several of the projects featured here today. These activities can also be used in first grade. Children of every age are sure to have fun with them too.

Patriotic Crafts for Preschoolers to create on Independence Day
These Easy 4th July Cookies are some of our all-time favourite cookies. We made them using our favourite egg-free sugar cookie recipe, although plain shop-bought cookies work well too for “speed.” That makes them a wonderfully entertaining activity for a 4th July party or playdate!
Likewise, we have a cookie-painting method that we used to create some Union Jack Flags – you might like to try it as well!

One of our printable projects for you to try is this collection of wonderfully fun Paper Lanterns for 4th July! They would look beautiful as garden garlands, or you can select the “colour your own” downloads to keep children occupied for ages! They are excellent for helping young children develop their scissor-cutting abilities. Only a handful of straight lines are required! Make and wear this simple Stars Headband during your 4th July celebrations. It is an ideal accessory for watching one of the Fourth of July parades or even joining in with your own.
Here is one for the entire family – a collaborative Jasper Johns Flag Art Project and craft activity! It is an excellent project for the classroom or for making together as a family. Children can pick up paintbrushes and start creating, or use tissue paper to embellish their stars and stripes – a brilliant way to develop fine motor skills by scrunching the tissue paper and concentration skills while placing everything correctly.

Firework-Themed Crafts for Preschoolers
