Paper Plate Leprechaun Mask Craft

To create this leprechaun mask, start by printing the leprechaun hat template. You’ll also need sturdy heavy-duty paper plates, orange paint, green, black, and yellow cardstock, a green marker, a jumbo craft stick, scissors, and glue.

Step-by-Step Leprechaun Mask Craft Instructions

First, collect a paper plate and some orange acrylic paint. Be sure to choose a strong, durable paper plate for this project.

Cover the paper plate with orange paint, then allow it to dry fully.

As the paint dries, cut each hat piece from the template. Trace the large square-like shape and the longest rectangle onto green cardstock. Trace the other rectangle onto black cardstock and the small square onto yellow cardstock. Cut out every piece.

After that, attach the black rectangle near the bottom of the large green piece with glue.

Then, use glue to add the longest green rectangle as the hat’s brim.

Finish the hat by adding the yellow square buckle. We colored a square in the middle of the yellow cardstock with a black marker.

Once the paint has dried, ask an adult to carefully place the tip of some sharp scissors into the plate’s center and cut out the inside circle.

Secure the hat to the top of the plate with glue.

To complete the mask, attach a craft stick to the bottom of the plate. We painted ours green, though this step is optional.

Now you’re prepared to search for your pot of gold with this St. Patrick’s Day craft!
