Adding plants, foliage, and blooms to your home is an effortless way to make your space feel truly alive. Best of all, it’s easy on the wallet!

Houseplants can bring an entire room harmoniously together. They can improve the air quality, too, while adding positive energy to your surroundings. I keep plants in every room of my home—particularly in my teenage son’s bedrooms because, honestly, anything that makes those rooms smell fresher gets my full support!
These days, lovely houseplants are available in countless places. Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Lowe’s, and Home Depot have all been reliable spots for me.

Faux plants and stems are also part of my decorating routine. They’re an excellent solution if caring for live plants isn’t your strength! I’m continually impressed by how lifelike artificial plants have become over the last few years.

I’m fond of these artificial stems I picked up at Walmart for $3 apiece. They’re a wonderful alternative to fresh flowers for your table.

This sunny living room corner shows how I brought in an abundance of plants. The snake plant and peace lily placed in the floor baskets require very little care, making them ideal for beginners. I also regularly find both varieties available at the larger retailers.

Could anything be more charming than a vase filled with flowers? Whenever tulips begin appearing in New Hampshire grocery stores, I’m delighted—it’s a soft reminder that spring is getting closer!
Like greenery, flowers instantly bring extra warmth and dimension to your decor. You don’t need an elaborate arrangement to make a difference; a handful of artificial stems in a vase can be just as effective.

In my entryway, I brightened the space with a lovely garland above the mirror, a faux tulip bulb planter on the table, and a tall topiary.
One major benefit of artificial plants and greenery is that you purchase them once and enjoy them season after season.

This weekend, consider bringing a touch of green into your home and notice the difference it creates! Especially during the winter, it can be a wonderful way to chase away the seasonal blues.
