Easter Scavenger Hunt For Kids
Children will have a wonderful time completing this Easter scavenger hunt! Download the free printable scavenger hunt clue cards at the end of this post! Don’t have a printer? Simply copy the clues onto paper, then decorate them with stickers or drawings.
The clue cards are designed to print across 2 pages and include 12 clues altogether.
Every card is numbered to show the correct sequence, although you are welcome to rearrange them.
Only the first and last clues are essential. Feel free to shuffle all the others in any order you prefer!
To extend the activity, you can create and insert additional clues of your own before the final one.
Indoor Scavenger Hunt Tips:
For older children, make the indoor hunt more difficult by choosing a slightly less obvious hiding place. For instance, if the clue says “look by the laundry hamper,” you could hide the card inside it. With younger children, place it on top of or next to the hamper instead.
Outdoor Easter Scavenger Hunt Tips:
Our outdoor scavenger hunt includes 2 fill-in-the-blank cards. Since outdoor areas can differ significantly, I left several clue cards customizable. This allows you to include special items that may be located in your own backyard.
Some options may include:
- basketball hoop
- vegetable patch
- patio
- water fountain
- storage shed
- toy bin
- sandbox
If one of the cards is not suitable for your space, remove it from the collection and complete the hunt with 11 cards. Alternatively, cover the location with correction fluid or paper and write in a different spot. I aimed to make the locations as general and useful for as many families as possible.
Extra details about some outdoor hiding places:
Card #2: Set it on an outdoor chair or bench.
Card #10: Hide it close to your child’s bicycle. If they do not own a bike, you can use a scooter, wagon, or stroller instead.
Card #11: Put it beside the garden hose or outside tap.
You can place a small reward with every clue card and save a larger prize for the conclusion. Another option is to give one big Easter basket at the end. Whichever approach you choose, children will enjoy these scavenger hunts!

2. Use each clue’s directions to hide the next card until only the final one remains.
3. To lengthen the scavenger hunt, create and add your own cards before the last clue.
4. Once everything is prepared, give the first clue to your children to begin.
