How to make Paper Birds: a step-by-step guide:

Do these first four instructions look familiar? They are actually identical to the steps for our basic Origami Bookmark! So they should be wonderfully simple for regular Red Ted Art readers!
Start by creasing your square sheet diagonally to form a triangle.
Next, bring the sharp right-hand corner across to the corner forming the right angle.
Do the same with the sharp left-hand corner. You should now see a square featuring two flaps.
Next, create the base and wings
Turn the square until it looks like a diamond in front of you. Fold the bottom upward by approximately 1.5cm – this forms a small “stand” to help your Paper Bird Origami remain upright.
Crease both sides inward by around 1cm – these folds will become the wings of your paper bird.
Turn the paper over. Then fold the upper two flaps downward as shown in the pictures. These will form your origami bird’s beak.
Your simple origami bird is complete and should stand on its own!
To make the bird even more adorable.. gently trim the head.. attach a few adhesive eyes and glue on some feet! However, every one of these additions is optional.
