Previously, we’ve shared Patrick’s Day crafts suitable for children of every age! However, it can also be helpful to focus specifically on Preschool Craft Ideas. Creating with preschoolers is incredibly enjoyable, and little ones love joining in, but they require a different variety of St Patrick’s Day Activities.
This collection is designed for toddlers, kindergarteners, and preschoolers! Honestly, though, I think children of all ages could enjoy these ideas. After all, who wouldn’t enjoy discovering the end of the rainbow, meeting tiny leprechauns, or investigating shamrocks and four-leaf clovers?
Shamrocks Ideas for Preschoolers
We’ll start this group of Preschool St Patrick’s Day Activities with a few Shamrock projects! Keep in mind that Shamrocks feature 3 leaves rather than 4, like a lucky clover. It can be a little confusing.. but there you have it.. Three leaves it is!

Paper Plate Tambourines are adorable, especially with those golden coin shakers! By adding holes with a hole punch and threading yarn through them, you can also “close” the tambourines and turn the project into a wonderful fine motor activity. I love that these contain gold coins – although colourful beads, dried peas, or rice can be used to create different sounds. What a delightful idea!
St Patrick’s Day Lacing Cards

Making play dough is SUPER SIMPLE and a much better choice than creating slime. Both offer wonderful sensory experiences for Preschoolers and help develop fine motor skills. However, play dough is far kinder to the environment, as it is generally made from natural ingredients. So while a pot of gold slime might seem especially tempting and “fun” to make, I always recommend choosing playdough instead. Let’s take better care of our planet.. particularly when both activities are equally enjoyable, but one is more eco friendly! Leprechaun Crafts for Preschoolers & Toddlers

Fun Rainbow Activities for a Preschool St Patrick’s Day!
Naturally, a St Patrick’s Day craft collection wouldn’t be complete without including some beautiful Rainbow Activities!
Looking for some small treats? Treat yourself and the children to these rainbow cookies! We love that they’re not only colourful and delicious, BUT you can also explore colour theory while preparing them!
Paper Chain Rainbow – a delightful activity that transforms the traditional paper chain into a fantastic St Patrick’s Day craft! Who wouldn’t enjoy discovering a pot of gold at the rainbow’s end? It’s excellent for developing fine motor skills and learning about rainbow sequencing!
Torn Paper Rainbow – another fantastic rainbow project for toddlers and preschoolers (including a free rainbow template for you)… try creating bright paper rainbow collages. You can prepare this using pre-cut paper (which also builds scissor skills) or torn paper (perfect for strengthening little fingers). Naturally, you’ll have a lovely rainbow to admire at the end!
