Making a Popsicle Stick Witch & Black Cat
Follow these step-by-step directions for both characters:
1. Begin by attaching the popsicle sticks together.
Arrange 5 small sticks for the black cat and 4 standard popsicle sticks for the witch.
For the black cat, glue one mini stick across the back, and for the witch, attach 2 sticks. This helps secure all the sticks in place.

2.Color the popsicle sticks.
Cover the black cat with black paint.
Paint the witch’s upper section green and her lower section black.

Next, decorate each character:
Black Cat:

1. For the cat ears, begin by cutting out 2 black triangles.
Trace a second triangle onto purple paper using the black triangle, then cut it slightly smaller.
Place and glue the purple triangle over the black one.
Attach one ear to each upper side of the popsicle sticks.

2. Attach two tiny googly eyes.

3. Braid 3 purple pipe cleaners together and glue them in place as whiskers.

4. Place a small purple pom-pom above the whiskers and glue it down.

5. Coil a black pipe cleaner around a pencil.

6. Attach the black pipe cleaner to the back with glue to form the cat’s tail.
To finish, use white paint to draw the cat’s mouth.

Witch:

1. Cut a witch’s hat from black felt and glue it onto the top. Black cardstock can also be used to create the hat.
Attach a strip of goldglittery foam paper onto the hat to create its brim.

2. Attach two small googly eyes.
Next, use a black marker to sketch the nose and mouth.

3. Snip narrow pieces of orange felt (orange cardstock works as well) and attach them along the sides of the witch’s face.

4. Add two purple buttons.
To create the broom: Trim a rectangular piece of brown cardstock, then make several slits in it. Attach it to the end of a popsicle stick with glue. Finally, secure the broom to the witch’s base.
