Today we have a wonderfully enjoyable and fitting project for Earth Day. You’ll have a fantastic time creating our Cardboard Roll Stamp Earth Craft! It represents our planet and uses cardboard rolls, allowing you to recycle and reuse materials at the same time.
This project is nearly impossible to get wrong, making it an excellent art activity for children of any age. Toddlers will enjoy painting and stamping, while older children can have fun designing their own Earth. We’ve also included a circle template for the preferred size, although any circle size will work.
Cardboard Roll Stamped Earth Day Craft
To create our stamped Earth project for Earth Day, begin by getting our circle template. Alternatively, find an object you can trace to create your own circle. I’ve always used the edge of a bowl.
You’ll also need blue and white cardstock, acrylic paint in blue, green, and red, toilet-paper-sized cardboard rolls, scissors, and a glue stick.
Stamped Earth Cardboard Roll Craft Supplies Needed
- Circle Template
- Cardstock – blue, white
- Acrylic paint – blue, green, red
- Cardboard rolls
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Cardboard Roll Stamp Earth Craft Step by Step Directions
To begin, print the circle template onto white cardstock, or trace a circle of your own with a black sharpie on the white cardstock.
Next, prepare your paints. You’ll need green, blue, and red paint. Since a level surface is necessary, we use a paper plate. Add a generous quantity of each color to the plate.
Take a cardboard roll and dip one end into the green paint. Start stamping the green paint to create the continents.
After forming the continents, use a separate cardboard roll to stamp blue paint into the remaining spaces. Using both ends of one roll is possible, but it can become quite messy. We like using one roll for every color.
After stamping your Earth, allow the paint to dry.
Once the paint has dried, trim out the Earth along the black circle.
Attach the Earth to an entire sheet of blue cardstock with glue.
To complete the Earth project, shape a 3rd cardboard roll into a heart.
Coat the heart with red paint and stamp several hearts over the Earth. Add one or two hearts to the blue cardstock “space” background as well.
