Superhero Handprints

If there’s a superhero enthusiast at home, these simple superhero handprints are sure to be a favorite! We got the idea from various superhero handprint paintings we’ve come across. We transformed the handprints into cards, making them perfect for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, Mother’s Day, or Father’s Day. Best of all, they’re incredibly simple to create!

It’s hard to pick our favorite superhero card, though the Batman one is probably at the top of the list! His little smirk is just adorable. The Ninja Turtles are equally charming! Your superhero lover will definitely have fun selecting their favorite design!

Instructions for Creating the Handprints

These Ninja Turtle cards are incredibly enjoyable! Create just one or make all four. We made two examples to demonstrate how they appear together. They would be wonderful for a Ninja Turtle birthday celebration, or you could make them with your Ninja Turtle fan as gifts for Valentine’s Day or Father’s Day.

Ninja Turtle Cards

1. Begin by folding your green cardstock in half.

2. To create these cards, trace your handprint with the wrist section positioned over the folded green cardstock.

3. Trim out the handprint, rounding the upper portion of the card, which will become the Ninja Turtle’s head.

4. After cutting out the handprint, trace the shape onto your foam glitter paper to create the bandana. Position the glitter paper beneath the handprint to determine the required size. Cut the bandana in a straight line, then add the triangular piece on the right side.

5. Attach the googly eyes with glue and draw on a smile.

6. Finish by writing your message inside the card!

Batman Card

For the Batman card, trace your hand in the same manner. Check out our video at the beginning of this post for a demonstration! We adore how this Batman turns out, and your little ones will enjoy creating one as well!

1. Fold the white cardstock and trace your hand with the folded edge positioned at the wrist. Cut it out, then “smooth the top” around the area that will form the head.

Next, paint the lower section of your handprint and allow it to dry.

2. Determine the size of the handprint’s upper section to create Batman’s mask. We measured the top, sketched the mask’s pointed edges and sharp nose, then glued it in place and trimmed around the handprint sides so everything fit properly.

3. Cut two matching eyes from white cardstock and attach them on top. Draw one eye first, then use it as a template for the second.

4. Finally, draw his mouth.

Spiderman Card

This Spiderman card is among the simplest designs to create! Children will enjoy drawing the web across Spidey’s face. They can sketch the lines themselves and even assist with cutting the eyes!



1. Fold the red cardstock in half and trace the hand, keeping the folded edge beside the wrist. Cut it out and round the top where the head will be.

2. Cut two matching eyes from black paper. Then trace them onto white paper and make two additional white shapes that are slightly smaller. Glue the black pieces down first, followed by the white pieces on top.

3. Use a black marker or Sharpie to draw the spiderweb pattern. On the upper part of his head, the webs curve downward, while on the lower section they curve upward. A Spiderman toy can also serve as a helpful reference!

4. Add your message inside the card! We wrote “You’re AMAZING”. We think it suits Spidey and all of his webs perfectly, don’t you?



Which card do you like best? We’re still undecided, although Batman would probably come first, followed by the Ninja Turtles. This superhero project is sure to bring smiles to both the people who create it and those who receive it!
